I DO have to study!

Turns out, I underestimated my exam portion. It's a lot more than I thought it would be.
It counts for 40% of my grade. It's also only a half-hour long.
HOW CAN THEY MAKE AN EXAM THAT COUNTS FOR FORTY PERCENT OF MY GRADE ONLY HALF AN HOUR LONG? HOW CAN THEY?
